Hide AdBilbao are known for their policy of bringing young Basque players through the ranks, as well as recruiting Basque players from other clubs. Musa is believed to fit the club’s recruitment policy, having been born and raised in Tudela, Spain and spending the first 11 years of his life there before relocating to England in 2017.
The youngster is tipped to have a great future in the game and has already represented both Spain and England at Under-16 level with both nations looking to secure his citizenship.

He’s only made four appearances so far at Under-21 level but is regarded as the calibre of player that could eventually progress into the first team. Spanish outlet AS has even gone as far to compare him to Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal although it’s worth noting that Musa is in fact a year older than the Euro 2024 winning winger.
What does the future hold for Victor Musa?
Under INEOS, United have intensified their attempts to sign the best up-and-coming talents and promote players through the academy to strengthen their options at Carrington.
"I'd rather find the next Mbappe than spend a fortune trying to buy success," Ratcliffe told The Geraint Thomas Cycling Club Podcast, via Sky Sports. "It's not that clever, is it, buying Mbappe, in a way? Anyone could figure that one out. Much more challenging is to find the next Mbappe or Jude Bellingham or the next Roy Keane."

Hide AdThis has been backed up by the fact that defensive midfielder Toby Collyer, defenders Harry Amass and Tyler Fredricson along with striker Chido Obi have all come through the academy to make first team debuts this season.
Clearly the pathway is there for Victor Musa to make a breakthrough particularly with Rasmus Hojlund struggling to hit the heights expected of him in recent months and Joshua Zirkzee’s underwhelming first season in England.
However, Chido Obi and youngster Ethan Wheatley are both understood to be United prospects ahead of Musa in the pecking order at this stage, and his future will largely depend on if he’s able to bridge the gap in the manager's mind between himself and those strikers.
Reports from Man Utd News claim Musa’s dream is to play at the Theatre of Dreams but add that Bilbao could look to persuade the youngster to move back to Spain if they can offer him a clearer path into senior football.
