With the forward reportedly injured, we have a look at five men who might be selected to replace him.

Anthony Martial is reportedly a doubt for Manchester United’s opening Premier League game of the season this Sunday, against Brighton & Hove Albion.

According to The Athletic, Martial has ‘suffered a minor hamstring problem’ and is expected to miss the clash with the Seagulls at Old Trafford.

They add, it’s hoped the striker will be available for the following weekend’s trip to Brentford, but the injury represents a huge blow to Erik ten Hag ahead of his first competitive game in charge.

Martial impressed in pre-season, scoring in the opening three matches, and contributing to United’s slick forward line.

It also presents a problem as there’s currently no natural, fit replacement for the Frenchman, with United light on options in the No.9 role.

It’s why the Red Devils have been so heavily linked with Benjamin Sesko in recent days, and ManchesterWorld understand he is a player United are interested in.

But in the meantime, Ten Hag must find a replacement for Martial this weekend. Ahead of the game, we’ve picked out five players who could possibly start up front for United on Sunday.
