Manchester City and Manchester United appear to have missed out on Jude Bellingham after months of being linked with the England star.
Bellingham is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer, with the Bundesliga giants usually selling one of their stars per summer. Erling Haaland’s exit to Manchester City last summer meant Bellingham stuck around for another year, but the feeling is that the England international’s time has come this summer.

But after months of links involving City, United and also Liverpool, it seems Bellingham his headed elsewhere to continue his journey to the very top. According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the England star has chosen Champions League holders Real Madrid, where he will surely be the successor to Luka Modric or Toni Kroos.
Romano has tweeted: “Jude Bellingham has accepted all the details of Real Madrid contract proposal already 10 days ago. He’s excited by Madrid project. #RealMadrid. Real Madrid want to meet with Borussia Dortmund in May in order to agree on the final package/fee.”
The fee is expected to be in excess of £110 million, but it’s not clear how much of that fee will have to be paid upfront. That fee will surpass the £100million paid by Manchester City for Jack Grealish - the current record fee for an English player. Liverpool were believed to have offered up to £85m for the player before pulling out of the race.

Bellingham would, of course, be an instant starter for Los Blancos as they prepare to usher in a new era, with senior players like Karim Benzema and Dani Carvajal also edging towards the end of their careers.
