Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has taken to social media to congratulate Marcus Rashford on his move to Aston Villa in an announcement which finally puts to bed one the longest running sagas of the January transfer window.
Rashford, who has made a combined total of 426 career appearances for his boyhood club across all competitions, first expressed a desire to leave United after a 20-year association during an interview with Henry Winter back in December.

He explained: "If I know that a situation is already bad, I'm not going to make it worse. I've seen how other players have left in the past and I don't want to be that person.
"When I leave, I will make a statement, and it will be from me. When I leave, it is going to be 'no hard feelings'. You are not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United - that's me as a person.
"I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps."
Marcus Rashford secures Aston Villa move
Marcus Rashford was frozen out of the squad for 12 consecutive matches across all competitions in a period which was dominated by rampant speculation linking him with various European clubs including AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund, AS Monaco, Marseille and Barcelona along with Premier League side West Ham.

However, Villa’s bombshell sale of Jhon Duran to Saudi Arabia left the club with a healthy injection of cash, and after Ollie Watkins’ recent groin injury, Unai Emery’s men decided to capitalise on Rashford’s feud with Amorim by signing the player on loan until the end of the season, with a potential option to buy for £40m.
Alejandro Garnacho reacts to Marcus Rashford exit

He commented on Instagram: “All the best Rash” followed by a crown emoji and a raise hands emoji.

Rashford is in line to make his Aston Villa debut in a home match against Tottenham in the fourth round of the FA Cup. The 27-year-old notably helped his team to glory at Wembley last season after starting in the 2-1 victory against Manchester City in the final and will hope to repeat the feat with his new club.
The Red Devils take on Leicester City in a game which sees Amorim go toe-to-toe with former interim boss and club legend Ruud Van Nistelrooy at Old Trafford.
