Erik ten Hag hasn’t treated Facundo Pellistri ‘like a professional’, according to the player’s agent.

Pellistri has been limited to one Premier League start this season and despite the struggles of Manchester United wingers Antony, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho. The Uruguay international is set to join Granada on loan until the end of the season, with reports in the Daily Mail claiming Pellistri could make his move permanent this summer.

That seems much more likely following the comments of his agent Edgardo Lasalvia, who has said his client has no future at Old Trafford while Ten Hag remains at the club.

“Whether he returns to Manchester in the middle of the year will depend on the performance he shows [at Granada]. If Ten Hag continues, it’s going to be difficult,” Lasalvia told Uruguayan radio station Sport 890. “[Ten Hag] hasn’t used him, valued him, or treated him like a professional.”

Pellistri has made just 24 appearances for United since his move to the club in 2020, with just four coming as starts. He has fallen behind Antony, Amad, Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho in the pecking order out wide, and it’s believed Ten Hag does not see the player in his long-term plans.

When Pellistri’s move is complete it will bring the number of United loan departures up to double figures this month. Radek Vitek, Rhys Bennett, Alvaro Fernandez, Maxi Oyedele, Dan Gore, Donny van de Beek, Hannibal, Sancho and Joe Hugill have all departed on short-term deals in January, while Mateo Mejia joined La Liga side Valencia in a permanent move
