Manchester United are without a win in their last four outings across all competitions and are up against the task of toppling Aston Villa when they return to Premier League. action The Red Devils returned to the Europa League this week against Porto, in a clash that ended in a 3-3 draw despite Erik ten Hag’s side registering 29 shots.
United’s last league win came against Southampton last month but a frustrating 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace and a 3-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur followed. Meanwhile, upcoming opponents Villa issued a huge upset to Bayern Munich in the Champions League after a late Jhon Duran goal was enough to snatch the win for Unai Emery’s side.

Hide AdVilla sit fifth in the table on 13 points, six ahead of United down in 13th. However, the Villans have a less than desirable injury list to work through, so let’s take a look at the latest fitness updates for United’s Sunday opponents.
Boubacar Kamara
Boubacar Kamara is still recovering from an ACL injury that has seen him sidelined since February. The midfielder is expected to make his return soon after returning to ‘consistent training every day’ with the team but United will be too soon.
Tyrone Mings
Tyrone Mings has been absent for Villa for more than 12 months now after also suffering an ACL injury at the start of last season. Like Kamara, Mings is training ‘very well’ and the club hope he will be available following the international break.
The central defender has not been seen in action since the opening day of the 2023/24 campaign after suffering an ACL injury.

John McGinn missed Villa’s latest outing against Ipswich Town after picking up a hamstring injury against Wolves. Emery has said the midfielder is expected to be out ‘for two or three weeks more’ with a full expectation of up to four weeks on the sidelines altogether.
Jacob Ramsey
The win over Bayern Munich was bittersweet as it also came with some fitness issues. Jacob Ramsey has picked up a suspected groin injury and is ‘a doubt’ to face United, along with Leon Bailey.
Leon Bailey
Like Ramsey, Bailey has been labelled a ‘doubt’ for Villa for this weekend, with Emery expressing his concerns over the duo being able to feature.
“Both [Ramsey and Bailey] are now doubts. I don’t know if they will be available on Sunday. They are so, so tight if they are available. Tomorrow we are going to train, but today they are doubtful.”

After also picking up an injury during the Bayern clash, Amadou Onana is ‘a doubt’ to face United, according to Emery. However, the boss does believe that he could be available to feature, as it is not a ‘serious injury’ that they are working with.
“Playing matches during the week and on the weekends, we have to be clinical in our decisions for the next match. Even like last year when we played in the Europa Conference, I have to identify as well if I can do some changes getting better moments for other players who are ready to play.”
