The list is growing for Dan Ashworth as he comes to the end of his first week at Manchester United.
After protracted talks, United finally reached an agreement with Newcastle for the services of their sporting director earlier this week, and now he must prove he was really worth the wait.
Ashworth will report to Omar Berrada when he joins the club next Saturday and he has been tasked with leading all football departments including all technical, performance and operations areas.
A key aspect of that will be contracts, and before he can start signing off new arrivals, he must first decide what to do with 16 players who have now entered the final two years of their current deals.

There are huge question marks over Malacia's fitness after a season on the sidelines. It seems unlikely he'll be offered a new deal and he could be sold next year if he doesn't progress as well as hoped. | Manchester United via Getty Images Photo: Manchester United via Getty Images
