He will be a name familiar to Manchester City fans, having scored a hat-trick at the Etihad this season in Leipzig’s 6-3 Champions League group stage defeat.

He also featured twice against the Red Devils last season in the same competition including in their 3-2 defeat to the German side in October 2020.

Nkunku has made 115 appearance in total for RB Leipzig and scored 31 goals since joining from Paris Saint-Germain in 2019. He had spent four seasons with the French side prior to his German move but struggled for consistent game time.

At international level, Nkunku has played for France at Under 16, Under 19, Under 20 and Under 21 level and is also eligible to play for the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
