Pedro Neto is reportedly on Manchester City’s ‘radar’ as the club aim to sign a new winger this summer.

The Portugal international has impressed for Wolverhampton Wanderers this season and prior to a hamstring injury in October had registered eight assists in 11 league matches. That’s the highest assist per 90 minutes of anyone in the Premier League this term.

His superb form has alerted City’s attention, according to the Daily Mail, with Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Savio of Girona also among the players who the European champions are keen on ahead of next summer.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein had reported in January that City ‘like’ Neto, while Arsenal  ‘have a long-standing admiration’ of the 23-year-old. The same outlet claimed in August 2022 that the Gunners were in talks over a possible move for Neto.

Meanwhile, Football Transfers state City are ready to promise the ex-Lazio and Braga attacker first-team football in an effort to stave off competition from Arsenal, with international team-mates Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva deployed to speak to the player and try to convince him to join the Blues.

Neto returned to the Wolves side for the first time since that hamstring injury when played 10 minutes in the 3-0 win over Everton on 30 December. He also came off the bench in the recent 1-1 draw against Brentford in the FA Cup, providing an assist in his 35-minute cameo.

Should he join City next summer, Neto would face competition for a starting berth from Bernardo Silva on the right wing, as well as Phil Foden, Oscar Bobb and Jeremy Doku.
