The 2022/23 Premier League season begins on August 5 with fans of all 20 clubs looking forward to seeing how their players fare in England’s top flight.
Manchester City, who lifted the title for a second consecutive season last time out, have bolstered their ranks ahead of the new campaign.
The Sky Blues splashed £51m on prolific goalscorer Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund, while also welcoming January signing Julian Alvarez to the Etihad Stadium this summer. City allowed the latter to spend the second half of last season on loan ar River Plate.
Manchester United currently have Cristiano Ronaldo leading their line after the 37-year-old netted an impressive 18 goals in his first season back at Old Trafford in over a decade.
However, despite both players keen eye for goal, they face stiff competition from some of the league’s best forwards for the Golden Boot next campaign, including last year’s joint-winners Son Heung-min and Mohamed Salah, who scored 23 goals each.
With that being said, let’s take a look at which player is favourite to scoop the award next season.
