When is the Champions League quarter-final draw and who could Man City face?

We take a look at when the draw for the last eight of the Champions League will take place and who Manchester City could face.

The final eight team in this season’s Champions League have been decided, with three Premier League clubs still remaining in the competition.

Manchester City made it to the next stage after they beat Sporting Lisbon 5-0 over two legs, while cross-town rivals Manchester United were eliminated by Atletico Madrid after a 1-0 loss (2-1 on aggregate) to the Diego Simeone’s side on Tuesday.

Let’s take a look at when the last eight of the Champions League will be drawn and who City could face.

Date and time of the draw

The quarter-final draw will take place on Friday, March 18 at 11am UK time in UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

The draw will be the last of the competition with the route to the semi-finals and final also decided on this date.

Draw details and potential opponents for City

The quarter-finals and semi-finals of the Champions League will not be seeded, as a result clubs from the same country can be drawn against each other, with home and away legs based on the order each team is drawn.

Bayern Munich, Liverpool, City, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Benfica, Villarreal and Chelsea are the eight teams to have qualified for the quarter-finals.

With the quarter-finalists now confirmed, there is potential for the Sky Blues to face two Premier League rivals in Liverpool and Chelsea in the next stage of the competition.
