The England international also provided three assists in the competition from eight appearances. It’s unsurprising then, that Foden was selected in the Team of the Season, and was the only City representative in the fantasy XI.
In fact, the 24-year-old was the only player named in the team who didn’t make it beyond the quarter-final stages, with City eliminated by Real Madrid on penalties in the last eight. The 15-time European champions had four players in the UEFA team: Dani Carvajal, Antonio Rudiger, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior.
