The teenager’s performances for the Foxes have drawn interest from England’s top clubs, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal also keen to sign Noubissie, but he has turned down approaches from the trio and is expected to join City.

A deal hasn’t been reached yet, and compensation has not been formally agreed between the two clubs, but sources have told ManchesterWorld the move should go through without any complications.

A technically gifted midfielder, Noubissie’s pace and ability to beat a man are highly rated at underage level. City were the preferred offer for the youngster given the club’s excellent record at fostering youth talent, with Phil Foden, Rico Lewis, Cole Palmer and James McAtee among the numerous players who have stepped up to the senior side from the academy in recent years.

City’s structure, coaching and philosophy based around attacking football are believed to have persuaded Noubissie, while the club have consistently produced winning teams at youth level in recent seasons and have won Premier League 2 and the U18 Premier League for three years in a row, in addition to success at senior level.

Speaking this week about City’s track record at underage level, chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said: “We have shown in our Academy how we have produced the best team in England or the best teams in England over the last five or six years. Consistently.

“So the talent is there. We have great players, great coaching staff, and that's producing players like Rico Lewis, like Cole Palmer and many others

“I think that professionalism, that level of development and then the carefulness, we're very careful in how we develop these young players and that's respected by the entire industry, which is why they're being targeted today.”
