Pep Guardiola has only one absentee for Sunday’s Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester City will be without John Stones with the defender picking up a hamstring injury in last week’s FA Cup win over Arsenal. Speaking ahead of the clash at Spurs, Guardiola said the defender will be out for around ‘three weeks, one month’.

While the loss of one of City’s most in-form defenders will be a blow to Guardiola, he is well stocked at centre-back with Ruben Dias, Manuel Akanji, Aymeric Laporte and Nathan Ake all options, although the latter is likely to play at left-back following the departure of Joao Cancelo on loan to Bayern Munich.

Yet, in better news for City, Phil Foden is expected to be back after he missed the last two with a foot injury. Asked if the England international is available again, Guardiola replied: “Yes, I think so. He has trained well these last two days.”

Elsewhere, Spurs also have plenty of options to choose from, although that team selection could be made without Antonio Conte, who may not be on the touchline after he underwent surgery during the week to remove gallstones.

Cristian Stellini conducted Friday’s pre-match press conference and said there is a chance Conte will be back in time for the clash with City. “We don’t know yet when he is coming back. The surgery was good. He’s recovering well at home [in Italy]. We have two days before the game and anything can happen.”

Stellini also revealed Richarlison is fit again ahead of the game after he missed last weekend’s FA Cup win over Preston North End with a knock. “Richarlison had a small problem and now he trained. He has been training this week and is available,” he said.

“We recover also Lucas [Moura] and we are happy to say that because he has been training this week. He played 45 [minutes] with the young team and he is back,” Stellini added.

Lucas hasn’t played since before the World Cup break due to injury and will almost certainly not be ready to start on Sunday.
