Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero has made the bold claim that his former club could win the treble this season.

The Argentine believes due to their ‘great position’ in the Premier League, as well as the FA Cup, as of writing, and the Champions League, they could win all three trophies this campaign.

Speaking on his Twitch account, via City Xtra, Aguero shared his thoughts on the Sky Blues’ chances of winning the treble, but knows it won’t be an easy task for his former side.

“I think Manchester City is in a great position to win the Premier League again, and they have a good shot at the FA Cup and the Champions League, too,” he said.

"It will be competitive, but I think it’s possible to win the treble. Winning the treble would be a great achievement.”

Aguero went on to say due to the strength in City’s squad and Guardiola at the helm, lifting all three trophies is a possibility.

He added: "They have a team and a manager who can do that this season. At Manchester City, we wanted to win everything, every game, and every cup, and that will always be the case at the club now."

The 33-year-old was forced to retire from playing in November due to a heart problem and advice from doctors, having only joined Barcelona in the summer.

He spent 10 years at the Etihad Stadium between 2011 and 2021, making 390 appearances for the Sky Blues and lifting 15 trophies.

Aguero left City as their all-time leading scorer with 260 goals as well as their most decorated player.
