Real Madrid vs Man City: How their previous Champions League meetings have ended

Manchester City travel to the Bernabeu to take on Real Madrid in the second-leg of their Champions League semi-final on Wednesday in hope of reaching the last two for the second consecutive season.

Pep Guardiola’s side have a one-goal advantage coming into the clash in the Spanish capital, with City 4-3 winners last time out.

The Sky Blues are no strangers to the final of the competition having reached that stage last campaign, but fell to a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea.

Real on the other hand are the most successful team in Champions League history, lifting the famous trophy 13 times.

Los Blancos haven’t progressed to the last two of the competition since 2018 - the year they last won the Champions League.

Wednesday’s fixture will be the eight meeting between the two clubs in the competition, but how have their previous seven meetings ended?

Fear not, we at ManchesterWorld take a look at their last seven clashes in the Champions League…

The last time the two teams faced-off was in the first-leg of their semi-final on April 26, with Guardiola’s side narrowly beating Real 4-3 at the Etihad Stadium.

The previous meeting at the Bernabeu was a successful one for Guardiola’s side, with the Sky Blues earning a 2-1 victory in the first-leg of their last-16 tie.
