Real Madrid staged an incredible Champions League comeback to eliminate Manchester City in the semi-final, winning 3-1 on the night, and 6-5 on aggregate.
City were leading 1-0 in the 90th minute, but two late goals forced extra-time, before the hosts netted from the spot in the extended period to secure their place in the Paris final.
It was City who were the better side in the first half of 90 minutes and controlled long periods of the opening 45 minutes.
Riyad Mahrez had the first shot on target of the night but it was comfortably held by Thibaut Courtois, before the goalkeeper kept out a strike from his international team mate Kevin De Bruyne.
Bernardo Silva also forced a save from Courtois at his near post, while the former Chelsea man scrambled across the goal to palm a dipping Phil Foden strike wide.
As for Real, Karim Benzema and Vinicius Jr both had shots which went over, and Toni Kroos’ free-kick deflected wide off the City wall in the latter stages of the first half.
After the break, City’s hold on the game continued, with Jesus wriggling free in the box and poking an effort goal-bound which was kept out.
But it took until the 73rd minute for City to find the breakthrough, with Mahrez curling a shot beyond Courtois after Silva played him the ball at the edge of the area.
Joao Cancelo went close late on, before Jack Grealish twice had dangerous shots on target, one of which was cleared off the line by Ferland Mendy.
Just as City looked to have things wrapped up, Benzema crossed the ball for substitute Rodrygo to poke past Ederson in the 90th minute.
Within moments Real had a dramatic second when Rodrygo headed in Dani Carvajal’s cross despite being second best across the match, and brought it to extra-time.
Immediately in the extended period, Benzema forced Ederson into a reaction save, before the Frenchman won a penalty after being fouled in the area by Ruben Dias. It was Benzema who stood up and slotted it into the corner.
Fernandinho had the best chance of the added-time for City, when he was just inches away from converting at the back post, but missed Foden’s flick on.

9. Riyad Mahrez- 5 (off 85)
Had a quiet night at the Bernabeu and misplaced a few passes in his own final third, but the Algerian popped up with what looked to be a massive goal in the latter stages of normal time.
10. Gabriel Jesus- 6 (off 78)
Grew into the game after a slow start, and the No.9 had two good efforts, one of which drew a smart stop from Courtois.
11. Phil Foden- 5
Much less involved than the first leg last week, and the England international didn’t create many chances or have many shots.
12. Oleksandr Zinchenko- 4 (on 72)
Found it difficult to get into the game and keep up with the speed of proceedings. The left-back was booked for a foul on Rodrygo in extra time.
