Premier League-winning manager gallery: How Guardiola at Man City compares to Ferguson, Wenger & more

Pep Guardiola collected another Premier League winners’ medal on Sunday with Manchester City.

The Blues knew ahead of Sunday’s game against Chelsea that they would be lifting the trophy regardless of the result, due to Arsenal’s 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Guardiola named an understrength side for the game against Chelsea, with the likes of Stefan Ortega, Rico Lewis, Sergio Gomez, Kalvin Phillips and Cole Palmer coming in to start, although Julian Alvarez scored the only goal of the game. The City players were presented the trophy on the Etihad pitch after the game, although that was briefly held up due to the supporters invading the pitch.

Despite City wrapping up the title with relative ease, it hasn’t always been an enjoyable season for the champions. Guardiola’s famous ‘happy flowers’ rant in February highlighted the Catalan’s frustrations as he claimed he ‘didn’t recognise’ his team after an underwhelming run of form.

But from there, City pushed on with the likes of John Stones, Ruben Dias, Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish bringing their performances to new heights, while the goalscoring phenomenon of Erling Haaland kept pushing City towards another title.

As Arsenal stuttered, City excelled and won 12 on the bounce, while also progressing to the finals of the FA Cup and Champions League.
