Next season will begin on the weekend of 17 August and will end on 25 May 2025 when all 10 fixtures will be played at the same time. The 2024/25 includes 33 weekends, four midweek matches and one Bank Holiday matchday. There will also be no mid-season break.

Meanwhile, the Premier League added: “In keeping with previous commitments made to clubs to address the congested schedule across Christmas and New Year, arrangements will be made to allow more rest time over three of the festive match rounds, with no club playing within 60 hours of another match. There will be no fixture on 24 December 2024.”

United began the 2023/24 season with a 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers, and will conclude the term at Brighton & Hove Albion in three weeks’ time. As for City, they kicked of this season with a 3-0 win at Burnley and could be crowned champions on the final day of the campaign at home to West Ham United.
