Premier League ‘22/23 top scorer: Will Erling Haaland, Harry Kane or Mohamed Salah win the Golden Boot?
We’ve had a look at the favourites to finish top of the scoring charts this season.
The list of Premier League potential top scorers for 2022/23 reads like a who’s who of the world’s best attackers.
Erling Haaland is the name many are tipping to finish top of the pile in his maiden season in English football, with champions Manchester City finally bringing in a top-quality striker to replace Sergio Aguero.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo will be among the favourites again, should he remain with Manchester United this season, with the striker being heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford.
Then there’s Mohamed Salah, who has won the accolade three times in the last five seasons and has never scored fewer than 19 in a single Premier League campaign.
The Liverpool forward shared top spot with Heung-min Son last term, with the Tottenham Hotspur man matching his impressive tally of 23 thanks to a late-season scoring spree.
Twenty-three has actually been the exact number of goals netted by the Golden Boot winner in the last three years, with Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy disrupting Salah’s hegemony over the award in 2019/20 and 2020/21.
There are a few other names being touted as potential winners, with Darwin Nunez, Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling all keen to impress following summer moves, while outside bets include the likes of Callum Wilson, Richarlison, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Jarrord Bowen.
But who’s favourite to claim the crown? We’ve had a look at the betting odds to see who the bookmakers think will grab the most goals in 2022/23…
