Former Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany is wanted by German giants Bayern Munich with fresh reports he is their ‘preferred candidate’ to take charge.
Kompany has just seen his Burnley side relegated from the Premier League after a one year stint following their successful return to the top flight. But it appears Kompany could be on his way out.
Sky Sports report: “Burnley boss Vincent Kompany has emerged as Bayern Munich's preferred choice to become their new head coach, according to Sky in Germany.”
They added: “The Bundesliga side have now turned their attentions to Kompany, with both parties undergoing concrete and positive talks but there is no agreement yet.”
Bayern are searching for Thomas Tuchel's successor, his exit was confirmed last week. Kompany’s current deal runs until 2028 with Burnley, who will be among the favourites for the Championship title next season.
