Pep Guardiola has confirmed Erling Haaland will be available for Wednesday's game against Burnley.

The Manchester City forward has missed the last 10 games through injury and last featured for City on 6 December in the 1-0 loss to Aston Villa. Guardiola said last week that Haaland had begun training pain free once again, while Haaland revealed in a Q&A on Sunday that he is 'finally back'.

And speaking on Tuesday ahead of the Burnley encounter, Guardiola confirmed his star striker is back in contention for the Premier League fixture.

"Apparently he will be selected, for the first time he is back," explained the City manager. "When we have all the squad, we are stronger, definitely.

"Erling is an important player for us, definitely. Has been two months out, a long time, but he feels good. We have training this afternoon but apparently tomorrow he will be with all of us."

Guardiola also confirmed Erling Haaland's return will be 'a completely different approach' from Kevin De Bruyne's staggered reintegration from a hamstring injury, but he added it will be 'step by step'.

Elsewhere, the City boss also revealed Manuel Akanji is available once again and has returned to training after missing the last two games with a knock. "Manu is back, yesterday he trained really well and didn't feel problems with his knee, John [Stones] as well.

"That is the best news for the important part of the season, which starts right now. Of course the FA Cup we had, the Champions League is around the corner and it is important to have everybody."

The return of Akanji and Haaland means Guardiola has a fully fit squad to choose from, with John Stones and De Bruyne also fit once again. "I am delighted that almost all the squad is fit. We don't have injuries."
