Manchester City could have a fully fit squad for Sunday’s Premier League encounter.

It’s a rarity in the Premier League this season: a meeting between two sides who don’t have a plethora of injury concerns.

When Manchester City faced Brighton & Hove Albion on Thursday, the opposition were without eight players. Chelsea had seven missing in last week’s FA Cup semi-final, while Luton Town, the Premier League opponents before that, had 12 absentees.

For Nottingham Forest, that number this weekend is just two, while City could have a fully fit squad for the trip to the Midlands.

Nuno Espirito Santo confirmed in his pre-match press conference that he is not expecting anyone who missed last week’s defeat to Everton to return in time. That means Wily Boly, who has featured just once in 2024, won’t be fit.

Nor will Taiwo Awoniyi. The Forest striker has missed the last six games with a thigh injury, although he has been back in training for two weeks and could be closing in on a return to first-team action.

As for City, the champions were without just one player for Thursday’s 4-0 win over Brighton: Erling Haaland.

The Norwegian striker has missed the last two games with a muscular problem, but Pep Guardiola said Haaland is recovering from the problem. “I spoke with him, and he says he feels better. I don't know [if he’ll be back],” explained the Catalan on Thursday night.

Should Haaland miss out, Julian Alvarez will probably continue up front, while John Stones, Ruben Dias and Jack Grealish might return to the line-up having dropped to the bench for the midweek trip to Brighton.

Doubt: Haaland (City). Out: Boly, Awoniyi (Forest).
