Norway doctor gives two-word Erling Haaland update as Man City prepare for title race vs Liverpool and Arsenal

The Manchester City star was unable to complete training on Tuesday.

Norway's team doctor has confirmed there is 'no problem' with Erling Haaland after footage emerged of the Manchester City star limping out of training on Tuesday.

Haaland flew out to join his compatriots for the upcoming international break earlier this week, following Saturday's 2-0 FA Cup win over Newcastle United. The 23-year-old was taken off in the second-half of that game, prompting questions over his fitness.

Norway face the Czech Republic and Slovakia in friendlies over the next week but Haaland's availability was plunged into doubt when footage emerged of the striker leaving a training session early with what appeared to be a fitness issue. That raised concerns in Manchester as to whether the Norwegian would be fit to face Arsenal next Sunday.

But speaking shortly after the session to TV2, the team doctor insisted there was 'no problem' with the City star. Norway's first friendly is on Friday and Haaland is expected to be available, although the picture will become clearer when the line-up is announced.

Pep Guardiola will need his star striker to be fit and firing upon his return to the UK, with City kicking off their title run-in with a massive game against Arsenal at the Etihad next Sunday. Mikel Arteta's side currently top the table after seeing their two main challengers draw at Anfield earlier this month.

City are currently third but remain hot favourites to claim a fourth straight trophy, with just one point separating them, Arsenal and Liverpool in one of the tightest title races in recent memory. Guardiola's men also have a Champions League quarter final tie against Real Madrid to look forward to, with the first-leg in the Spanish capital on April 9.

Haaland has been unable to replicate last season's record-breaking form but remains top-scorer in the Premier League with 18 in 23 appearances. The £51million signing has been uncharacteristically wasteful at times but will hope to peak for the run-in as City continue their pursuit for another historic treble.
