Manchester City are in Champions League final action on Saturday evening, and attention will quickly turn to pre-season preparations after full-time.
Pep Guardiola’s men are in touching distance of a famour treble after winning the Premier League and FA Cup, but they can not afford to stand still. With competition always rife in the Premier League and in Europe, City will need to do work this summer to ensure they have the quality to remain at the very top next season.
With that in mind, a number of players could depart, be it due to their contract situation or due to interest from elsewhere. He we round up the nine most likely departures.
1. Mikki Van Sas
It will be interesting to see what decision City come to over van Sas, who was signed in 2020. He has done well for the development side, winning the PL2 player of the month award recently.
2. Rowan McDonald
McDonald was handed a 12-month contract last summer after injury trouble, but it looks as though he will move on.
3. Alex Robertson
The young Australian is out of contract this summer, and there hasn’t been news of an extension yet.
4. Ilkay Gundogan
Gundogan is out of contract this summer, and it’s not clear whether he will stay or move on. Guardiola will be keen to keep the German, who has been key again this season.
