Real Madrid injury news ahead of Manchester City trip
Starting with the visitors Real Madrid, the La Liga giants have a few injury issues to deal with as they prepare for their trip over to England. Lucas Vazquez has been ruled out for their match at the Etihad Stadium after injuring his hamstring.
Carlo Ancelotti remains without key defenders Dani Carvajal, Antonio Rudiger, Eder Militao and David Alaba. Therefore, they will need make a decision on who to play at the back.
Guardiola is expecting a tough test against Real Madrid and has said: "I think it's impossible for 90 minutes or 180 minutes to control these four players (Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius, Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham). They are exceptional. So how they combine, the runners, the ability one against one, how they keep the ball. So all four, they are exceptional. Everybody knows it. So we have to reduce their involvement as much as possible. Knowing that is going to happen, accept it."

City will need to make checks on Nico Gonzalez after he went off in the first-half against Leyton Orient. It remains to be seen at this stage whether he will be fit to play this week. They will also need to see how Nathan Ake is after he was left out against the League One outfit.
Ruben Dias was substituted against the O’s and will need to be assessed. Speaking after their win against the O’s, Guardiola insisted that was always the plan for the centre-back: “The plan was for Ruben just 45 minutes after coming from injury and I didn't want to play the two new players at the same time.”
Rodri has been missed greatly this season after having surgery back in September. He is still unavailable but has been included in their squad for the Champions League which suggests he may return sooner than expected. They won’t want to take any risks with him.
Oscar Bobb has been in the treatment room over recent times. He isn’t back just yet and City will wait for the right time to throw him back into the fold.

Hide AdGuardiola wants to see his team cause Real Madrid some issues: “Of course [going through] it would be important. We would be in the next round. But we have not been stable this season. We achieved Trebles and quadruples and we see how difficult it is. It is because we were a machine. Doesn’t matter what happened, we were there. We have many cases in the nine years I have been here where we suffer but always, we came back.”
