Manchester City player 'seriously’ considered with Manchester United 'pushing' for transfer

Manchester City and Manchester United have until the end of the window to complete any bits of business

Manchester City have underperformed by their standards so far this season. Pep Guardiola’s side were beaten 4-2 away at PSG in the Champions League last time out.

They have delved into the transfer market to bring in attacker Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt. He has caught the eye in the Bundesliga so far this season and will now be eager to adapt to life in England as soon as possible.

As for Manchester United, Ruben Amorim was picked as their replacement for Erik ten Hag earlier this winter. He impressed at Sporting Lisbon before his switch to Old Trafford.

It has been a mixed start for him in the dugout and he will be hoping for some more consistency with their results over the coming weeks and months. They face Fulham away this weekend in the Premier League.

Manchester City playmaker James McAtee wanted

Mainz are ‘seriously’ considering a move for Manchester City attacking midfielder James McAtee, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg on X. The German outfit are keen to land him on loan before the deadline on Monday 3rd February.

McAtee, who is 22-years-old, has made 14 appearances in all competitions so far in this campaign, six of which have come in the league, and he has chipped in with five goals. The Salford-born man has been on the books at the Etihad Stadium for his whole career to date and has risen up through the academy ranks of his current club.

He has been loaned out on two occasions in the past to Sheffield United to get some experience under his belt. The playmaker played a combined 75 matches for the Blades during his stints at Bramall Lane and he scored 14 goals.

City have a big decision to make on what to do with him next over the next couple of weeks. It remains to be seen whether they are willing to let him go with Mainz in the frame for his signature.

Manchester United update regarding Patrick Dorgu

According to Calciomercato, United are ‘pushing’ to get a deal done for Lecce left-back Patrick Dorgu this month. The Red Devils are hopeful of landing him over the course of the next couple of weeks.

Dorgu, who is 20-years-old, could be seen by the Red Devils as someone to bolster their defensive ranks. He is young and has the potential to get better down the line.

The prospect is from Copenhagen and started his career with spells at Husum Boldklub and Nordsjælland. He has made four caps for the Denmark national team so far.

He was snapped up by Lecce in 2022 and has since broken into their first-team. The youngster has made 56 appearances in all competitions and has chipped in with five goals, three of which have come in this campaign.

His current club will face a battle to keep hold of him this winter amid attention from elsewhere. If United got him, he would battle it out with Luke Shaw, Diogo Dalot and Tyrell Malacia for a place in their team.

Former Manchester City player Oleksandr Zinchenko wanted

Former City man Oleksandr Zinchenko is being linked with a switch to Borussia Dortmund. According to journalist Matt Law on X, he has emerged on the radar of the German giants.

He currently plays for Arsenal as they chase down Liverpool at the summit. However, he is a wanted man right now and could swap to Dortmund for a change of scene.
