Hide AdCity and Premier League rivals Liverpool are said to be ‘willing’ to trigger a €50m release clause in Gavi’s Barcelona contract, as per Marca.
The 17-year-old was a key player at the Nou Camp last season and is tipped as one of the biggest prospects in football.
If Guardiola is adamant on bringing the Spanish midfielder to the Etihad Stadium this summer, then he will need to activate the clause as soon as possible.
The Spanish outlet says the fee will rise to €100m at the end of June and Gavi’s current club are looking to renew his contract but there is no agreement in place yet.
