Manchester City are reportedly interested in snapping up New York City youngster Christian McFarlane. The teenager has emerged on the radar of the Premier League giants and is being tipped for a bright future in the game.

City ‘want’ to land him, according to reporter Alan Nixon on his Patreon. The current champions could see him as a useful addition to their youth ranks with a view to him becoming a first-team player in the future.

McFarlane, 15, was born in Essex but is also eligible to play for Jamaica so may have a big decision to make on what country to represent in the future. He moved over to America at the age of three and grew up in Queens and Long Island before linking up with New York City’s academy.

The left-back has since risen up through the youth ranks of the MLS outfit and penned a homegrown contract last year. His current deal at the Yankee Stadium expires in the summer of 2026 meaning he still has a few years left to run.

McFarlane has made seven MLS Next Pro appearances in all competitions to date and his current club could face a battle to keep hold of him amid reported interest from City. New York are part of the City Group and finished 3rd in the Eastern Conference last year under head coach Nick Cushing.
