Man City vs Watford predicted XI - 5 changes expected as City aim to go 4 points clear of Liverpool

Manchester City are short of defensive options ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Watford.

Manchester City host Watford on Saturday looking to go four points clear of Liverpool at the Premier League summit.

The Reds had taken top spot in the week, but City’s 3-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion meant they returned to first place on Wednesday and could extend that with a win against the Hornets.

But should City fail to beat Watford, it will offer Liverpool the chance to leapfrog them in the table when they host Everton on Sunday.

City’s midweek win came with the added boost of Ruben Dias playing for the first time since 1 March and Cole Palmer returning to the squad.

But it also came at a price, with John Stones and Nathan Ake taken off due to injury and Guardiola saying in Friday’s pre-match press conference that the pair will be tested before the game.

Kyle Walker is also a possibility to return, and the former Tottenham Hotspur defender hasn’t played since sustaining a knock against Atletico Madrid last week.

The fixture against relegation-threatened Watford could also offer Pep Guardiola a chance to rotate his side ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final first leg against Real Madrid.

Here’s how we think City will line-up this weekend…
