Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City host Brentford on Saturday in their last Premier League game before the World Cup - their next fixture will be held on 28 December.

In their last Premier League encounter, Manchester City beat Fulham 2-1 at home with a last-gasp winner. Despite Joao Cancelo being sent off in the first half, City were able to cling on, eventually taking all three points thanks to a penalty from Erling Haaland.

Brentford, on the other hand, could only muster a 2-2 draw in their most recent league outing. They played Nottingham Forest at the City Ground and, despite leading 2-1 late on, an own-goal from Mathias Jorgensen meant that the Bees shared the spoils.

City are currently second in the Premier League table with 32 points. They sit just two points behind the leaders, Arsenal, but have a superior goal difference.

Meanwhile, Brentford are 11th in the table. The Bees currently have a total of 16 points in the Premier League this season.
