Manchester City are expected to announce an arrival and a departure in the coming days.

Manchester City are close to completing two more deals as the summer transfer window enters its final stages.

The Blues have already brought in Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic, and are on the verge of completing a third signing. City have agreed a €65m (£55.4m) price with Rennes for winger Jeremy Doku.

The 21-year-old was linked with a move to a number of Premier League sides earlier this window, but his switch to City will provide Pep Guardiola with further options in the wide areas. City have been stretched in that area following the departure of Riyad Mahrez, although Doku is seen as a more explosive and raw option.

The Belgian scored six in 29 Ligue 1 matches last season, and has already netted once in two appearances this term. Doku's signing is expected to be completed soon, and he could even be an option for City’s trip to Sheffield United on Sunday.

The champions are in the market for an attacking midfielder, but their pursuit of Lucas Paqueta is off following allegations that the West Ham United star breached betting rules.

But it’s not just incomings that are expected at the Etihad in the coming days, and Aymeric Laporte looks set to depart the club soon. City have agreed a €27.5m (£23.4m) fee with Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr for the transfer of the experienced defender.

Laporte has fallen to sixth-choice centre-back option and made just 12 Premier League appearances for Guardiola’s side in 2022/23. The Spanish international is set to join Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane and Alex Telles at Al Nassr, and remains one of the few players to have won all five Premier League titles with Guardiola at City.

Meanwhile, Joao Cancelo is expected to leave City before the window closes, with Barcelona interested in the Portugal full-back. Guardiola is happy to let Cancelo leave and the 29-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Bayern Munich.
