The England international has been heavily-linked with a move to the Etihad this summer, and looks set to wrap up a high-profile switch in the coming days.

According to Romano, Phillips has already agreed personal terms with City, and paperwork between the Premier League champions and Leeds is now just waiting to be signed.

A report from the BBC late last week suggested that any deal for the 26-year-old will be worth an initial £42 million, with a potential £3 million to paid in bonuses.

It is also understood that City youngster Darko Gyabi will be moving in the other direction as part of a separate deal, with the teenage midfielder expected to fetch around £5 million in a permanent transfer.

Gabriel Jesus

According to an update from the Telegraph, Gabriel Jesus is on the verge of completing his long-anticipated move to Arsenal.

Former City coach Mikel Arteta has identified the Brazilian as a priority target this summer, and looks to have finally landed his man in a deal worth around £45 million.

The money from Jesus’ sale is likely to help fund the arrival of Phillips, and an announcement on the striker’s exit is expected imminently.

Likewise, Romano has suggested that the 25-year-old will fly back to England in the coming days to complete his medical ahead of putting pen to paper on a contract that will run until 2027.

Raheem Sterling

Jesus’ exit could also clear the way for City to focus on the sale of Raheem Sterling.

As part of his update on the Brazilian’s departure, Romano also suggested that Blues will turn their attention to negotiations that could take the England international to Chelsea this summer.

According to the Italian journalist, the West London are preparing to submit a new proposal for the winger, with Thomas Tuchel eager to sign him and personal terms already having been discussed.

The Telegraph report that any bid could be valued at somewhere between £50million and £60 million.

Samuel Edozie

City also look to be on the cusp of selling teenage winger Samuel Edozie to Bayer Leverkusen, according to reports.

Alan Nixon of The Sun and Romano have both provided updates in recent days, with suggestions that the Lewisham-born prospect is on the brink of sealing a permanent transfer to Germany.

Any prospective deal is expected to fetch around £10 million over a series of installments.
