Manchester City confirm outgoing transfer with two more exits close
Manchester City have confirmed the permanent sale of Alex Robertson to Cardiff City.
The midfielder came through the youth ranks at the Etihad but never played a senior game for the club. Robertson was named on the bench four times for Pep Guardiola’s side, but his City appearances were limited to the Under-21 and Under-18s teams.

Hide AdRobertson spent part of the 2021/22 season on loan at Ross County and enjoyed a successful short-term move to Portsmouth last year. The 21-year-old played 27 times for Pompey in the first half of the campaign but didn’t feature again after New Year’s Day due to a long-term injury.
Having been linked with an exit all summer, Robertson has now agreed a permanent move to Cardiff City. The Bluebirds will pay up to £1m for the Australian international, with a 30 percent sell-on fee of any future transfer agreed, and the option to match any future offers accepted.
Robertson could make his Cardiff debut this weekend when the Welsh club face Sunderland in a 12:30pm kick-off on Saturday.
The transfer is the latest in a busy week of outgoings from City’s academy. Mahamadou Susoho has joined Peterborough United on loan, while Callum Doyle will spend the campaign at Norwich City.
