Manchester City have been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia after his agent admitted the winger would 'probably agree' on a move to the Etihad.

City are one of several top European clubs keeping an eye on Kvaratskhelia, who continues to develop into one of Europe's most exciting wingers at Napoli. The 22-year-old was pivotal in helping his side win Serie A last season and has continued his fine form into the current campaign, despite wider issues at the club.

There is growing unrest in Naples amid a feud between star striker Victor Osimhen and the agent of Kvaratskhelia. Osimhen looked set to leave in the summer after falling out with club chiefs but signed a new deal in December.

That new deal is thought to include a major pay-rise and Mamuka Jugeli, the agent of Kvaratskhelia, took issue with the striker - and in doing so, hinted that a move to Manchester could be on the cards.

"Napoli increased [Victor] Osimhen's contract, but Khvicha wouldn't accept a transfer to Saudi even if he offered him a billion euros," Jugeli told Georgian outlet 1TV Sport. For example, he would probably agree to play for Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Barcelona or Manchester City. Khvicha has different desires and goals: he wants to succeed, and he is already achieving it."

Kvaratskhelia also attracted plenty of transfer interest in the summer but opted to stay with Napoli, where game-time was guaranteed. The Romanian has been in talks over a new contract for several months but radio silence suggests there has been no palpable progress.

He is currently contracted until 2027 and reports have suggested it would take €100m (£86m) for Napoli to come to the table and negotiate a deal. How interested City are in the winger remains to be seen, with Pep Guardiola a big fan of Jack Grealish, who operates in similar areas.

City also spent £55.5m to bring Jeremy Doku across from Rennes in the summer while Phil Foden can operate on the left or right-wing.
