Man City ratings and match pictures as Erling Haaland and Phil Foden batter Man Utd
Check out how we rated Manchester City’s players after their derby win.
Manchester City ripped apart Manchester Unted at the Etihad Stadium wth an incredible display of attacking football.
It finished 6-3 to the hosts with Erling Haaland and Phil Foden each scring a hat-trick however the three-goal gap flattered United who were no match for Pep Guardiola’s side.
The scoreline flattered United, with Antony netting in the second half before Anthony Martial grabbed a brace late on.
Haaland, whose treble was his third in a row at home in what has been a superb start to life in the Premier League, told Match of the Day afterwards: “It’s been good, I felt it a little bit before the game that something special is going to happen and we saw today that some special things happened. It was nice.
“On Friday I felt it in the whole training ground. It’s these games I want to play in. These are the best games where there’s a bit extra.
“Confidence is good, it’s always been good. After we played against Liverpool in the Community Shield it was still good after. I think it was good that match happened, that something happened and [I thought] I have to be a bit more ready.”
Here’s how we rated City’s players...

1. Ederson - 7
Had very little to do and had no chance with any of the goals. Often had more action in attempting to start attacks rather than keeping out United

2. Kyle Walker - 6
Had a nervy opening, missing a crossfield pass and his man a couple of times but after that was largely on the fringes of the play

3. Manuel Akanji - 6
After a first half in which he barely touched the ball he tried to drive forward with the ball himself in the second just to get into the game

4. Nathan Ake - 6
Could have played with his slippers on such was the lack of action he had to deal with. Moved into left back in the final stages after raft of substitutions and still wasn’t really in the game
