Man City predicted XI to face Real Madrid - Four changes expected for Champions League semi-final

Pep Guardiola could look to freshen up his side for the trip to the Bernabeu on Wednesday.

Manchester City approach Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final second leg with just one major absentee.

Pep Guardiola confirmed in the pre-match press conference that John Stones has not recovered from the injury which forced him to be withdrawn last Tuesday and won’t travel to Madrid for the second leg.

However, there’s better news regarding Kyle Walker, with the full-back available again after an ankle injury which has ruled him out of the last five games.

The 31-year-old trained with the group on Tuesday and Guardiola said he will make a decision on Walker’s selection ahead of the game.

As for Nathan Ake, he was also involved in training after being replaced in the weekend win over Leeds United.

It means Guardiola has plenty to consider ahead of the fixture at the Bernabeu, especially when it comes to who starts in the full-back positions.

But further up the pitch, the Catalan doesn’t have any major injuries to consider in midfield and attack, and he’ll be able to choose his strongest line-up in those areas.

With the heavy fixture schedule, Guardiola has been resting and rotating his squad, but that won’t be something he considers on Wednesday given the importance of the second leg.

Here’s how we think the City manager will line up against Madrid…
