Man City predicted XI to face Copenhagen - with rotation expected plus player images

We’re backing the Manchester City manager to make several changes for the Champions League clash.

Pep Guardiola has had just two days to prepare his Manchester City team for Wednesday’s Champions League Group G game against Copenhagen.

The Catalan had a strong squad coming off the back of international duty, but lost John Stones to injury during the break.

City hammered cross-town rivals Manchester United 6-3 on Sunday thanks to hat-tricks from Erling Haaland and Phil Foden.

However, the Sky Blues suffered another injury in the match, losing Kyle Walker in the 41st minute.

Rodri was absent from the derby day win, but could return to City’s matchday squad. If deemed fit in Tuesday’s training session.

Guardiola confirmed Walker will miss Wednesday’s clash with Copenhagen in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday.

“We will train this afternoon and know if Rodri is better,” the Sky Blues’ boss said. “Kyle is out. We will see the training session.”

Kalvin Phillips will join both Walker and Stones as those unavailable to feature on Wednesday. The midfielder had surgery on his shoulder recently.

It’s likely that Guardiola will rotate his team in the coming weeks due to their busy schedule before the World Cup, with City playing 11 games (including Copenhagen) before the competition begins in November.

The Sky Blues boss also has Saturday’s league game with Southampton to think about, so expect a different starting XI to that who beat United.

With that being said, let’s take a look at who we think Guardiola will start against Copenhagen on Wednesday evening…
