Francis Lee funeral: Man City and Liverpool legends come together to pay respects at Manchester Cathedral

The Manchester City legend died at the age of 79 on October 2.

Manchester City legends were among the mourners as Francis Lee was laid to rest at his funeral at Manchester Cathedral on Thursday.

Mike Summerbee, Joe Royle, Micah Richards and Tony Book were just some of the names from the world of football paying their respects to the legendary striker. Graeme Souness was also in attendance.

Lee, known to all as 'Franny', died on October 2 after a long battle with cancer. The former England striker, winning 27 caps and scoring 10 goals, scored 148 goals in 330 appearances for City between 1967-74. He also had a spell as chairman at Maine Road in the 1990s.

Lee made nearly 200 appearances for Bolton Wanderers before joining City. The Westhoughton-born striker would finish his career at Derby County.
