Manchester City are now preparing for a tough-looking away clash with West Ham United as they look to continue their strong start.

Pep Guardiola’s men have won all of their games so far, and they arguably have another gear to reach as they continue to get more comfortable in the new season. Though, there will be setbacks along the way, and West Ham are hoping to deliver one of those this weekend, with the Hammers having picked up an impressive 10 points from a possible 12.

As City prepare for their trip to the capital, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Etihad Stadium.

Haaland claim

Barcelona are said to be interested in a future deal to sign Erling Haaland.

According to 90min, Barca are ‘positioning themselves’ to sign Halland having tried to sign the Norwegian from Borussia Dortmund, ahead of his move to City. The report claims Haaland has a release clause worth £150million that will come into effect in 2025, and Barca are said to be interested in activating that clause.

The Blaugrana are a long way away from being able to afford that fee as things stand, but they may be able to plan accordingly ahead of two years’ time, with Robert Lewandowski’s wages also set to come off the books before then.

Sila and Olmo’s clauses

Barcelona are also said to be interested in both a current City star and a long-term City target.

Bernardo Silva signed a new one-year extension with City this summer to remain in place, but his contract has a £50million release clause, according to Mundo Deportivo, making him a possible target for Barca next summer, should they improve their finances. Meanwhile, Spain star Olmo, who was eyed by City during the summer, also signed a one-year extension, and his contract has a £51.6million release clause.

Barca could make a move for one of the two players next summer, but they are unlikely to be able to afford both.
