Liverpool will have just four absentees for Saturday’s trip to Manchester City.

Jurgen Klopp confirmed that four Liverpool players will be back for Saturday's Premier League trip to the Etihad.

The Reds head into the clash against Manchester City in second place, but could move to the league’s summit with three points.

Last time out, Liverpool beat Brentford 3-0 at home, with Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez, Ryan Gravenberch and Curtis Jones all missing the game due to minor knocks. Yet all four have recovered during the international break, Klopp confirmed in Friday’s press conference.

“Only the long-term absentees are still out,” he told reporters. “No new concerns before I entered this room. Conor Bradley, completely normal. Now he needs to play games with the under-21s.”

That means only Andy Robertson, Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajetic will be missing for Liverpool on Saturday, as well as Bradley.

As for City, there’s still some doubt whether Erling Haaland will be involved in the top-of-the-table clash. The striker suffered the recurrence of an ankle injury during the international break, which forced him to sit out Norway’s 3-3 draw with Scotland on Sunday.

Haaland was pictured in training on Thursday and Pep Guardiola said on Friday he is ‘hopeful’ the 23-year-old will be available. “We have a few problems,” the City boss elaborated, with Ederson, Nathan Ake, Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes withdrawing from international duty over the break.

“The same as many clubs. We will see in the training session and we will see tomorrow. At 6pm I will know for sure which players I will have tomorrow. Always it's plan A.”
