The Bayern Munich star has been linked with an exit this window as he enters the final 12 months of his contract in Bavaria, and is reportedly a target for City.

According to Sky Sports Germany, Kimmich, who currently doesn’t have an agent, has attracted interest from several of Europe’s top clubs. Posting on X, reporter Florian Plettenberg claimed: “Only five top clubs are still in consideration for Kimmich. Now or 2025: Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Real Madrid and Barcelona.”

Kimmich has been linked with a move to the Etihad for several months, with talkSPORT claiming in April that the Premier League champions are monitoring the situation.

Asked about his future last week, Kimmich said: “The situation is absolutely clear. I have a contract with Bayern until 2025, so it’s not mainly up to me to be active right now.

“My focus is solely on the European Championship, and after that there will be a conversation.”

Kimmich has spent nine seasons at Allianz Arena and has played 390 times, winning eight Bundesliga titles. The 29-year-old is comfortable playing at right-back and in midfield, an option which could appeal to Pep Guardiola if Kyle Walker and Bernardo Silva were to depart this summer.

The former RB Leipzig man has earned 89 international caps and has played all three of Germany’s games in Euro 2024, providing an assist in the hosts’ 5-1 win over Scotland.
