How Man City and Liverpool points total in ‘21/22 compare with Man Utd and other Premier League winners

We take a look at how Man City and Liverpool points total last season compares to Man Utd and other Premier League winners.

The 2021/22 season was certainly a memorable one with Manchester City lifting the title on the final day.

Pep Guardiola’s side lifted the trophy for a second consecutive season after an incredible comeback on Sunday.

The Sky Blues were 2-0 down to Aston Villa in the 69th minute but it was Guardiola’s substitutions that turned things around for them - most specifically Ilkay Gundogan.

Gundogan replaced Bernardo Silva with 22 minutes remaining and the German didn’t disappoint, scoring two goals in five minutes, with Rodri also getting on the scoresheet.

The victory meant City lifted their sixth Premier League title, winning the competition by just one point, while Liverpool finished second.

Guardiola’s team had an overall points tally of 93, while the Reds came second with 92 - the sixth time the title has been decided by one point.

The triumph means the Sky Blues are now the second-most successful team in the competition’s history surpassing Chelsea. However, they still are some way off cross-town rivals Manchester United - who have won the title on 13 occasions.

With that being said, let’s take a look at how City and Liverpool points tally from last season compares to United and other Premier League teams with 90 points and more.
