Man City fans have finally got what they have been waiting for since Sergio Aguero’s departure last summer - a striker.

Despite another stellar campaign in the Premier League, it is clear there weakest link is up top and they could become an unstoppable force next season with a world class forward in their ranks.

The defending champions confirmed an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland yesterday after City activated his £51.2 million release clause.

The 21-year-old has become one of the world’s best strikers in recent years - scoring 61 goals in 66 league appearances since he arrived in Germany in 2020.

For City to buy him for less than the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Harry Maguire and Nicolas Pepe is astonishing and, if he is able to keep up his form, then it could prove to be one of the biggest bargains in football history.

However, the fee City will pay for Haaland is only part of the deal and they will still spend millions on the Norway international during his stay in England.

So how much is he reportedly set to earn at the Etihad Stadium and how does it compare to the rest of the Premier League’s best paid players?

We have compared Haaland’s reported salary to each Premier League club’s highest earner...
