Jack Grealish was caught up in a little controversy after Manchester City’s win over Fulham.

Pep Guardiola’s men managed to defeat the Cottagers away from home on Sunday to maintain their Premier League title charge. Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez were both on target to move City level on points with Arsenal at the top, and the Citizens als have a game in-hand still to play.

The win was about as hard fought as they come, through, with Fulham putting up a real fight, equalising in the 15th minute and then holding out until the 36th minute and keeping the gap at just one goal for the rest of the game.

Marco Silva’s men put on a brave performance, and they stood up to City in more ways than one. The Cottagers put on a physical display, and it led to a number of feisty encounters at Craven Cottage. A number of them involved Jack Grealish, who squared up to Fulham star Tete in a key encounter.

Grealish was also given plenty of stick from the Fulham fans during the game, but the City star didn’t manage to take the moral high ground after the game. Footage has emerged of the forward gesturing to Fulham fans at full-time. It’s tricky to see exactly what Grealish means by the gesture, but it’s clearly far from a thumbs up.

After a couple of seconds, one of City’s coaches approached him, apparently telling Grealish to cut it out. That led to the England international throwing his arms up in frustration. He then walked back towards his teammates, who were still on the pitch.

Grealish has been instrumental for City during recent weeks, and he is a player who plays on the edge, with passion. He might get a quiet word from Guardiola on taking the moral high ground with opposition fans, but it’s unlikely this will go any further than that.
