With the Premier League season kicking off on Friday, there are only a few days left to select your Fantasy Football team.
The deadline is 6:30pm on Friday, and as always Manchester City players are a must in any side, although only a maximum of three can be included.
Last season, no team scored more goals or conceded fewer than City, meaning players from the Blues are guaranteed to boost points tallies throughout the campaign.
But Pep Guardiola’s penchant for rotating his squad means knowing which City stars to select is tough, and the Catalan has been the cause of much stress among FPL players in the past after leaving out his star names.
Despite that, City actually have a relatively small pool of players to choose from this season, with just 24 available after a summer that saw Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko depart.
But which City players are a must-have for your squad, and which should be avoided? We have picked three of each…

1. Nathan Ake (£5.0m)- Avoid
The price tag might tempt players, but the centre-back won’t play regularly this season, even if he does feature more often at the start of the campaign with Aymeric Laporte out.
2. Joao Cancelo (£7.0m)- Sign
City’s highest scorer last season in FPL, and fifth-highest overall in the division. No City outfield player started more games than Cancelo last term, and at £7.0m he represents a bargain given his assists output.
3. Rodri (£6.0m)- Sign
Managed seven league goals in 2021/22, which is impressive for a holding midfielder, a position that tends not to score highly in the game. He also only missed five league matches all season.
4. Kalvin Phillips (£5.0m) - Avoid
Scored 39 and 67 points in the last two seasons, not exactly stellar tallies for a midfielder. That should increase this term at City, although he’s likely to play back-up to Rodri.
