While City will be pleased to have avoided Liverpool or Chelsea, the clash with Southampton offers a tough test for Pep Guardiola’s men.
The Sky Blues have struggled against the south coast club this season and drew in each of their previous meetings.

The sides played out a goalless draw in September before Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side ended City’s winning run in the Premier League when they drew 1-1 in January.
Elsewhere in the draw, City’s fierce rivals Liverpool will face Nottingham Forest or Huddersfield Town away from home, with the final fifth-round tie to be played on Monday.
Chelsea face a trip north to take on Middlesbrough, who have already eliminated Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur from this season’s competition.

The final quarter-final match will see Crystal Palace host Everton or Boreham Wood.
The next stage of the FA Cup will take place on the weekend 19/20 March, although final dates are yet to be confirmed. It means City’s Premier League fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion has been pushed back.
