Hide AdCity will be aiming to win the trophy for a fourth time when they take on Leeds. The Blues last won the competition in 2020, beating Chelsea 3-2 in the final.
The game is often a stage for the Premier League’s next generation to showcase their burgeoning talents. Four years ago, James McAtee, Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers scored for City in the final, all three of whom are now regulars in the English top-flight, while the likes of Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Tommy Doyle and Liam Delap were also involved for City.
This season, Ben Wilkinson’s youngsters have eliminated Watford, West Ham United, Reading, Tottenham Hotspur and Bristol City en route to the final, while Leeds have beaten Norwich City, Brighton & Hove Albion, Sheffield United, Liverpool and Millwall.
The Yorkshire side have won the competition twice before and are expected to bring a large away support to Manchester next month.
