Jack Grealish won’t be involved for England on Monday night as they host Germany in the final round of fixtures in the Nations League.

The Three Lions have endured a torrid campaign to date and have picked up just two points from the opening five matches, meaning they will be relegated from League A.

England were off the pace once again as they lost to Italy on Friday, with Giacomo Raspadori netting the only goal in Milan.

Grealish was introduced in the latter stages of the game and tried in vain to rescue a result for Gareth Southgate’s men.

The Manchester City winger also grew frustrated with the rough treatment he often received from the Italian player and he was booked for dissent during injury-time.

It proved to be a costly yellow card for Grealish and it means he is now suspended for the final match in the group, with two bookings resulting in an automatic one-game ban.

He’s not the only player who looks set to miss out, with The Athletic reporting Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fikayo Tomori, James Ward-Prowse and Jarrod Bowen have not been named in Southgate’s squad for the clash with Germany.

However, City trio Kyle Walker, John Stones and Phil Foden are believed to be in the squad for the game. Walker and Foden started in the loss to Italy, while Stones missed out through suspension.

This is England’s final game before the World Cup in November, and the last opportunity for an under-fire Southgate to ease some of the mounting pressure on him.
