Ederson transfer latest as Manchester City wait for opening Al-Ittihad offer

Manchester City have still not received an official bid from Al-Ittihad for Ederson, as uncertainty continues to surround the goalkeeper’s future.
The Brazilian is believed to be keen on a move to Saudi Arabia after seven years in Manchester, with Pep Guardiola admitting earlier this week that he is unsure what the future holds for his no.1.

“I don’t know the situation. No contact in the last days. A question of training and being with us until the transfer window finishes and we see what happens.”
Despite reports that Ederson has agreed personal terms with Al-Ittihad, it’s understood that City are still waiting for an official approach from the club that signed Moussa Diaby from Aston Villa earlier this week in a deal up to £52m. It has also been reported that City will demand a fee of around £50m for the ex-Benfica star.
Ederson’s future has dominated the summer window for City, with rumours about a possible exit first emerging before the conclusion of the 2023/24 season. The 30-year-old is currently in America as part of City’s pre-season tour, but started on the bench in the club’s first summer friendly against Celtic in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The German played 20 times last season despite being the club’s back-up stopper, and made a potentially title-winning save to deny Tottenham Hotspur’s Heung-min Son from scoring in the penultimate game of the Premier League season.
Guardiola could be asked about Ederson’s future when he faces the media ahead of Saturday’s game against AC Milan in New York. After that, the Blues face Barcelona and Chelsea in the States.
